About Aqua Southern Lakes/Central Otago
I have spent most of my working life dealing with seafood at retail or processing levels. With dutch parents, that meant standing on a nail box on a Sunday morning at the age of 7 selling fish in the family shop. After completing a commerce degree and then a number of years in seafood retail, I travelled extensively for 18mths through Australia, Asia and Europe. Returning to NZ I worked with my older brother processing value added seafood products and helped take the business from half a million dollars in sales per annum to over ten million dollars. During this time I also became responsible not only for the operations of the business but also implemented and maintained the food safety program required for local and export markets.
In 2015, my wife Simone and I, took a change of direction by moving to Queenstown and opened a small bed and breakfast. With an interest in health related issues and a knowledge of the key part water plays in being healthy, when the opportunity to become involved with Aqua Filter as a licensee for Southern Lakes & Central Otago, it was a fairly easy choice.
When I’m not making beds or installing water filters, you can find me refereeing the local senior football league or teaching and dancing tango.
Helping provide people with solutions to their specific water issues is a challenge that excites me, while still being able to enjoy the remarkable place in which I’m lucky enough to call home.

Roy Smith – Southern Lakes
Great service in delivery and installation of our filters for drinking water and shower heads. No more chlorine showers and our drinking water is as good as it used to be. Thanks Gavin.
